Confidentiality
Liana Taylor and all of our consultants follow the strict guidelines set by law for psychologists about confidentiality, privacy, professional conduct, ethics and responsibility.
Referrals
While not required-
may be useful where there is a related medical and/or psychiatric condition,
are necessary, to obtain Medicare rebates as part of a mental health care plan.
Number of sessions
Varies from one to many depending on the nature of the consultation, and type, intensity and complexity of issues. Four to eight is average for those not requiring longer-term support or deeper exploration.
Rebates
Private Health Funds ‘extras’ cover; apply to most counselling and psychology services.
Medicare rebates, available since Nov 2006 for people referred by their GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician as a part of a GP Mental Health Care Plan (Item 2710) for managing a mental health problem
Fees
If paid by cash or cheque at the appointment, or direct debit prior to appointment.
| Initial consult ~ 90 min | $235 |
| Subsequent consults ~55-60 min | $160 |
Less $10 discount for fees paid at or before the appointment.
Different fees apply for longer consults, phone consults, letters, consulting, legal & other specialised services.
NB we do not provide card facilities for consultations.
